TV One’s CC-300 Evolves into a True Event Controller
The powerful CC-300, which controls all of TV One’s C2 video processors, now interfaces
directly with the Calypso controllers making it a one of a kind, economic event controller.

ERLANGER, KY, June 2, 2006—TV One has managed to transform the CC-300 CORIOconsole into a true event controller. The CC-300 interfaces directly with the full range of Calypso Control products and has the ability to control anything that has a RS-232, RS-422, Network, Ethernet, Infrared or GPI trigger with a simple push of a button. It is a one of a kind item that can be used by low and high end markets for an unbelievable suggested retail price of $3,445 for both units.

“TV One is one of the first manufacturers to recognize the value of integrating full-featured and flexible device control directly into their products. By tying the CC-300 and the full line of Calypso controllers together through our c_Link architecture, TV One has shown great vision and has added an entirely new and extraordinarily useful dimension to their product,” said David Parish, President of Calypso Control Systems.

An on-board “event database” is the key to the Calypso architecture. Using a browser interface and built-in web server, AV dealers define up to 128 control “events”, with 512 corresponding “actions” or a combinations of actions, consisting of IR, serial, relay or network commands. Once configured, a simple hyperlink triggers the event database, using only the IP address of the controller and an event number. The event or sequence of events is then automatically launched. The CC-300 receives an event database summary from Calypso devices, and automatically populates its LCD touch screen with event-numbered buttons. A user simply pushes an LCD button to activate the corresponding event.

The CC-300 also has the ability to operate the switcher and control events simultaneously. The CC-300 is set up in a way that events can be assigned to specific buttons on the front panel and a simple command will allow execution of an event without leaving the switcher mode.

“The marriage of the CC-300 and the Calypso controller makes it a product that has endless potential in a market where technology constantly changes and mulit-tasking is essential,” said David Barnes, President of TV One. “This device takes complexity out of the equation so essentially anyone that can push a button can use it with confidence.”
