CONTENT@DISK - AV ARCHIVING AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Content@Disk is a Network based Storage and Management System for Digital Media. The
System contains a powerful Server running a Linux OS and a Web browser-based software
interface. Because the system can handle Video, Audio, Images and Data, it is truly a Media
Management System. Content@Disk is a preinstalled and configured system, based on a Dual
Pentium IV Server. This hardware in combination with the Linux OS and Linux Multimedia Database
Software results in a powerful system with a relatively low initial purchase price. Furthermore,
there are no further license costs, independent of the number of the users accessing the system.

Simultaneously while recording the MPEG-2 Video stream (up to 15 Mbits/sec), Content@Disk
also records a Video Thumb as an MPEG-4 Video stream for Preview purposes. This Preview
represents the video content that is stored in full quality on the Server. The result is that you can
browse the Digital Video Content via the Internet or Intranet, in real-time. Content@Disk contains
Timecode based Metadata. Metadata describes the content of the Digital Video, therefore, a
precise description of the content becomes the basis for an accurate and fast database research.
To decrease the download time of high resolution video data, we have integrated a simple editing
tool. Mark the Start and End frames of the video sequence that you want to retrieve in high
resolution and the Content@Disk system will only transmit the data that you have requested. This
saves time and network performance. You can also extract single video frames from the Video
stream. Browse through the MPEG-4 Preview files, stop the Video Preview and with a mouse
click you will get the selected Image in full video resolution from the server.

Content@Disk can also include a Playout Station with DVD-Writer and/or MPEG-2 Playback
hardware. The Playout Station will receive the data requested by the user and create it in the
desired format and media. This feature is critical when the user only has access to the Server by
a low bandwidth network connection.

The Content@Disk Media Archive System will be demonstrated at NAB 2003 in the TV One Booth C3360. For more
